Ray Allen has maintained a Rolfing® Practice in Baltimore since 2003, when he received his basic certification from the Rolf Institute. As a result of his experience and continued training, he was certified an Advanced Rolfer in 2013.
Allen has had a distinguished career as an exhibiting artist, a dean, and a professor known particularly for his teaching on the phenomena of color. Indeed, he believes that his many years spent developing his perceptual acuity, honing his sculptural sensitivity and becoming expert in working with the energy of color provided a unique foundation for his Rolfing® work.
As a result of a mountain biking accident in 1990, Allen first discovered Rolfing® as a client deparately in need of healing. The experience resolved his chronic pain, but more importantly, transformed his life. During this time he also recognized that his particular background and experience could be put at the service of this remarkable modality aimed at helping individuals increase their vital energy and live more fully in their bodies.
